The Ego Death

The self must be dismantled before the spirit can be designed. We fear the chaos because it looks like drowning, but it is actually the melting of the mask. To find the light, you must first become comfortable in the fire that burns the ego away.

Every current in this piece was drawn without an exit plan: color pushed against color until the boundaries stopped holding. What looks like disorder up close resolves, at a distance, into a single moving body of water and flame.

Hang it where you make decisions. It is a reminder that the version of you that panics at the threshold is the one that isn't coming along.
